We are appealing for information and offering security advice following a series of burglaries targeting residents in the Barrowby Gate/Manthorpe area of Grantham.
Since the beginning of February, six incidents have been reported. Offenders have often approached homes in daylight, so we are asking residents to remain vigilant at all times and to report anything that appears suspicious, no matter the time of day.
In a few incidents, suspects have been disturbed by occupants, while other burglaries have taken place during short periods when residents were out. We believe the offenders have been targeting bungalows between 4pm and 6pm, gaining entry by smashing the glass in patio doors.
Once inside, they have focused on stealing cash and jewellery, often searching the same common hiding places across different properties.
We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a Silver Audi A4, which has been linked to these incidents. If you live in, or travelled through, the affected areas and have CCTV, doorbell footage, or dashcam recordings, please review them and get in touch if you notice anything relevant.

For those with high‑value items such as jewellery, watches, passports, credit cards, computer data or identity documents, we recommend storing them in a secure safe. Avoid placing safes in bedrooms, as this is typically the first place burglars will search. Ensure your safe is properly secured by bolting it to a wall or floor. More guidance is available from Secured by Design.
If you keep a large amount of family gold or jewellery, you may wish to use a safety deposit vault, which removes the risk of storing valuables at home and may reduce the likelihood of being targeted. Please contact your insurance provider before making this change, as it may affect your policy or premiums. The National Pawnbrokers Association can provide more information about safety deposit vaults in your area.
You can also register your valuables on Immobilise – The National Property Register, which allows you to record ownership details of important possessions. This acts as an additional layer of protection should items be lost or stolen. Further information is available on their website.
You can report any concerns to 101 quoting incident 365 of 3 February 2026. | ||
